• Blizzard has a fixed date for the beta, however, it's still a secret.
• The multiplayer part of the game is basically done, except for a few details.
• There will be several opportunities to participate in the beta to come (including competitions, perhaps a kind of story competition or similar).
• In the current build (internally at Blizzard), there is a Dark Pylon with a cool ability, which enables Probes to harvest faster within the reach of the Pylon.
• The Command Center can now use a new cool ability that creates a "bigger" SCV which is better at harvesting.
• Supply depots can be upgraded to give +2 Supply.
• Xordiah, who is a "Protoss Fetishist", is Very Happy.
• This build's Immortals are extremely strong.

I say another week and a half till time announcement of Beta, and another 3-5 weeks until it starts (picking random people like WCIII beta?). Then the beta will likely be a month and a half to two months, allowing balance and time to finish the story finishing with a late summer release or early fall. That is what I have said for awhile, and i'm sticking to it.

Scratch that I'm moving my prediction to mid to late fall. That article is misleading on how close the beta is. It sounds based on blizz forum speak that it is farther away.

Blizzcon attendee's already have the code and will probably be the only one's in for a little while. I'd like to see emulated servers like for wc3.
